Brazilian democracy

As we Brazilians can delude ourselves into thinking that we live in a democracy?

If democracy means signing a blank letter to elected politicians, then yes! We can say that we live in a democracy.

Once elected, the politicians can do what you want. They can invent new fees, new taxes, new laws, etc.. Because
to approve them they only need the consent of the other elected politicians.

The people do nothing. They only reclaim with friends and relatives. The protest is resumed to put up on facebook and you're done! You wreaked!

The people do nothing because they do not have time for such things. The people need to work because they fear being unable to pay their debts, their taxes. If protest means losing a few days of work to attend a parade, forget it! What will happen if I lose my job? The situation is difficult, I can not get another one!

We live in a "democracy" that consists of a totally enclosed system. Politicians live in a completely different world. They do not have the same obligation to the people, not attending the same hospital, the same schools, the same transportations. They are not subject to the same law
s and judges.

How to change it? Here's the bad news: No way! Only a huge disaster, like a catastrophe or a war that would turn this country into a wasteland could be cause a reconstruction of the system. As Brazil does not suffer from natural disasters and Brazil is not the target of war, then forget! We are tied in this "democratic" regime.

It is illusion that it is the people who elect their politicians and therefore is in the hand of the people to change their country. This is pure nonsense. The people are not educated on how to vote. Moreover, the majority that elects someone is one that did not study.

Our "democracy" conditioned the people to elect certain candidates.

Our "democracy" imposes mandatory time politician on Radio and on TV.
Our "democracy" offers eight minutes of advertising for a candidate and less than 1 minute to others.

Do you believe that someday a candidate who has less than a minute on TV will be elected? Obviously not! We all know that!

What is more impressive is that everyone knows it, but still, there are dozens of political parties that spend public money to campaign useless. They spend years living campaigns ridiculous. Lula knows better than anyone. How did he survive during all the decades he spent losing elections?

Well, I will continue doing my part. I will continue voting null. Not only because I do not believe in the candidates, but mostly because I do not believe in the democratic Brazilian!
